Product Description

This Beka double oval steamer/roaster set is an amazing addition to your kitchen cookware collection, is energy efficient and quite versatile. This set features a high quality stainless steel construction with a layered sandwich base in the base pot and lid, for even heat distribution. The base pan is the largest piece and measures 4-3/4 inch tall. This piece may be used for roasting meats and vegetables, or as the base pan when stacking the pieces together for steaming. The two center pans are identical and both have steamer holes, and measure about 3 inch tall. This allows you to stack different foods in the separate pans and steam them all at one time. The lid is versatile, as well, in that it can also be flipped over and used as another pan. Also included in this set is a stainless steel roasting rack which can be inserted into the base or the lid. Each piece has dual handles for easy lifting. This roaster/steamer pan is suitable for use on any cooktop, including induction, and is dishwasher safe. Its generous 15 inch length and 7-1/4 quart capacity make this set a versatile staple for your kitchen.

Not worth the money at all

I was misled by the product picture into buying it in the first place. I was looking for something that provides steel grid bottom that allows the steam to flow up easily. This product has one particular picture that shows part of the bottom. The trick is that they place the metal grid on the real bottom, so in the picture it looks like the kind I wanted. Of course it's a big surprise when we received the product and found out the bottom is no differece than any other cheap stuff that are only one tenth of its price. It's actually worse, the holes on the bottom is acutally smaller than most other cheap products, so it's even harder to get the steam through. But frankly that's OK with me, because the design of the top actually minimizes the poor bottom design. The top is heavy and seals well so it helps build pressue inside, so it mitigates the problem. The real disaster is the holes themselves. I think it's due to the manufacturing process, there are grease or something being left over on the edge of the holes, each and every one. It's very hard to spot this problem because the whole thing is very shinny so it makes you think it is clean too, and the dirty thing is right inside the holes so it's hard to see and reach no matter from which angel you look at the bottom. In our situation, we didn't find this problem until we used it the first time, when we took the buns out of it and saw all the black grease on the bottom of the buns (when you first put them in, the buns will natually sink a little bit into the holes, which create small pops at the bottom, which then bring out all the grease around those pops). It was just disgusting. So we had to spend the next two hours try to clean up the holes. Trust me, it's VERY HARD do to. We had to find some fabric and cut them into thin threads, and use the threads to go through each and every holes and pull back and forth to clea them all up. I have never use this thing ever since.You would think a product at this price would have this basic clean up done before they ship it to you? think twice. For me, this is my first purchase from this company, and definitely the last.
